US expresses concern over Kashmir unrest

Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessing prevailing law and condition situations for long now. It is going through a worse situation where the killing of the Burhan Wani, the top Hizbul Mujahideen Commander and his two associates has created situations of tension and violence in the valley. Several politicians and ministers including Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti have condemned the deaths of the innocents and have appealed the residents of the state to remain calm and maintain peace in the valley.

Various sorts of retaliatory actions were taken by the military forces to handle the unstable situation of the state but they couldn’t help much. These clashes between the military and the groups of Hizbul Mujahideen resulted in the non-operation of shops, offices and business establishments including shutdown of petrol pumps. Also, the public transport was completely called off in the areas of disturbance and the general public was highly affected.
Minister Rajnath Singh visited the state to talk about the solutions that could be taken in order to control such violent situations. Also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi back then has expressed his discontent and unhappiness over the media glorifying the terrorist as a hero.

The United States has now said that it is in continuous touch with the Indian Government. US have expressed concern over the Kashmir unrest. At least 47 people, including two policemen, were killed and 5,500 were injured in the ensuing violence. The violence erupted after the killing of Burhan Wani on July 9, 2016.  “We encourage all sides to make efforts to find a peaceful solution to this,” state department spokesperson John Kirby told reporters.
We have obviously seen reports of the clashes between protesters and Indian forces in Kashmir. And we’re, of course, concerned by the violence, as you might expect we would be,” he said.

Kirby added, “The US was in close touch with the Indian government over the issue. But we’re obviously concerned by the violence and we want to see the tensions de-escalated.”

Many actions have been taken so far but all went in vain, only time will tell what progressive will the US government do in collaboration with the Indian Government to resolve the problem finding apt solutions to the violence situations and unrest in the Kashmir Valley.
