Ajmer science city is a technical collaboration of state government and union ministry of Culture’s NCSM (National Council of Science Museum) wing. Similar centers are already functional at Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur. This time, it’s Ajmer that’ll experience this change.

The upcoming science center in Pancheel area will provide opportunities for testing skills and investigating scientific phenomenon. Ajmer science park will have different sections based on various themes, like—universe, fun, scientific phenomenon etc. Watching life specimens and different machines at work will be a fascinating experience for students. The center is rumored to have a ‘Taramandal’ (planetarium) where aspiring astronomers can unveil universal mysteries. A new building will be constructed for holding science exhibitions. Local schools and colleges can hold science fair in the building for exchange of ideas.

There will be an indoor display area, outdoor science park, conference room for separate subjects and a comprehensive science library, as informed by former chief engineer S.P. Jain. Mr. Jain will be leading the Ajmer smart city project. It’s estimated to complete within 33 months of setup.

Besides exhibitions, the centre will hold regular workshops, seminars, scientific conferences and educational programs on computer awareness. Once upon a time, Ajmer was an education hub in Rajasthan. With changing times, the focus has shifted to other places. So far, there are limited number of schools and institutes in the city. However, local schools have witnessed drastic improvement in terms of education in last few years.

Through this center, local authorities will promote science education in the city. Authorities are hopeful it’ll attract science students and tourists in the long run.
