Minister of Urban Development of India M Venkaiah Naidu and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje inaugurated the 19th Arcasia Forum 2017 at the Birla Auditorium today.
The Arcasia Forum 2017 event was themed around the concept of ‘Happiness through Architecture’. This forum is about uniting the architects from the Asian region congregate on a democratic basis. This event fosters friendly, intellectual, artistic, educational and scientific ties.
Venkaiah Naidu The happiness index of any place can be increased through beauty, love and admiration. “Music, Dance and Architecture: These are 3 elements which can increase the happiness index,” the minister said.
Before designing a plan for any city, an architect must take into consideration the city’s heritage, local culture and rituals, said Naidu.
The minister also urged all architects to give constructive inputs on how to build cities more developed and advanced.
I am glad that Arcasia is being held at a heritage city like Jaipur,” CM Raje said emphatically. She said that Jaipur is a wonderful epitome of architecture, which she said is a collaborative blend of art and science.
It is crucial to ensure that the culture of any place is not lost in the process of making it modern, CM Raje said.
“Cities like Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur are known distinctly for its architecture and beauty. The architects must ensure that the essence and identity of such places are not lost in the process,” CM Raje said.
Naidu informed that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, many villages are being converted into cities. He emphatically said that every needy person will have a house to dwell by 2020.
Selected cities will be converted into smart cities which will propel better education, infrastructure and much more. All works to achieve the Mission 2020 are underway and the project is showcasing progressive results.
Cities are being made Clean, Greem and Smart. Jaipur has. Global Centre of Excellence has also been established in the Jaipur, which has also been chosen as the first Cisco light house city in Asia.
