Three scientists will be sharing the 2020 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, the Nobel committee declared here on Monday.
The Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet has today chosen to grant the 2020 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine mutually to Harvey J. Change, Michael Houghton and Charles M. Rice “for the revelation of Hepatitis C infection.”
“Without precedent for history, the Hepatitis C infection would now be able to be relieved. The 2020 Medicine Laureates’ revelations uncovered the reason for the rest of the instances of constant hepatitis and made conceivable blood tests and new drugs that have spared a large number of carries on with,” the council said.
Thomas Perlmann, secretary-general of the Nobel Committee and the Nobel Assembly, told a question and answer session that he had the option to arrive at two of the three laureates, and when they were educated regarding the news, they were “amazingly shocked, upbeat, and practically stunned.”
