Aamir Khan on Saif Ali Khan’s Kaalakaandi: Haven’t laughed this much since Delhi Belly

Aamir Khan Reviews Saif's Kaalakaandi

Aamir Khan recently tweeted about Saif Ali Khan’s upcoming film Kaalakaandi which is all set to release on 12th January. Aamir reportedly saw the movie in a special screening and praised the star cast of the film for doing a superb job. He praised Saif Ali Khan’s acting as well the direction by Akshat Verma.

Here’s what he tweeted about the film:

Interestingly, Kaalakaandi is the directorial debut for Akshat Verma who also happens to be the scriptwriter of Delhi Belly, an Aamir Khan production. The term Kaalakaandi is actually a Marathi slang to describe things that horribly go wrong. Apart from Saif in the lead role, the film also has various other actors like Akshay Oberoi, Deepak Dobriyal, Isha Talwar, Vijay Raaz, Sobhita Dhulipala, Shehnaz Treasury, Kunal Roy Kapoor, Neil Bhoopalam, and Amyra Dastur.

It’s a dark comedy-cum-thriller based on bizarre events that take place in an entire night with 6 different people being involved. The film narrates the story of 6 people living in Mumbai and going through the worst night of their lives. The film is basically a narration of Mumbai and its lifestyle where you pass by people from a totally different background and situations but its’ amazing as to how they can still change your life.

In an interview, the director revealed that he had Saif in mind while writing the story and he contacted Saif after getting done with the script. However, I took him two years to meet the actor and interestingly enough Saif said yes to the movie in just 5 minutes.
