The English third tier football club, West Ham United Ladies, introduced a new player, Indian Goalkeeper Aditi Chauhan as their pre-season signup. The first Indian woman goalkeeper to achieve such a prestigious position in the world of Global football, Chauhan debuted in the game between The Hammers and Coventry, on Sunday. Here an interview of the young goalkeeper, fresh from her first appearance for the club.

Aditi represented India at the women’s football competition at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games and vas vastly appreciated for her contribution to the winning Indian Football team at the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) women’s cup in 2013. A hard-working athlete, Chauhan has been an important member of the Under 19 Indian Football team right from the time her coach urged to participate in the Delhi Under 19 trials, where she has been playing for a while now. Chauhan has been signed by the major EPL club for one year from Loughborough University in Leicestershire, where Aditi recently completed an MSc in sports management.

A sports person from the very core, Aditi has a black belt in karate, has represented her school in various zonal and inter-zonal athletic meets for discus throw, javelin throw and shot put and she was part of the Delhi State Basketball team. No doubt the southern ladies division of The Hammers were thrilled to have Aditi on board and they expressed this through a personalized message for the young Indian Footballer on their Twitter handle,

Aditi had a fitting response for all the love she’s receiving as well!
