African Nationals Attack Case: More updates

All of this is being recorded under the cases which were earlier registered by the Delhi Police with respect to the assaults on the African Nationals in the capital.

Police stated that all the four attacks so far which took place in Delhi’s Mehrauli area on Thursday night were not actually planned nor were they racial in any manner. Though the area is habituated by more than 300 African Nationals so everyone was hinting on the racial aspects of the attacks which is now clearly denied by the Delhi police.

Seeing the increase in the attacks, the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj felt the need to contact Rajnath Singh the home minister and Najeeb Singh Jang, the Delhi Lieutenant Governor.

Sushma Swaraj later took it to twitter and posted, “I have spoken to Rajnath Singh and Lt Governor Delhi regarding African nationals in South Delhi yesterday (Saturday). They have assured me that the culprits would be arrested soon and sensitisation campaign will be launched in areas where African nationals reside.

In a series of tweets, she added, “I have asked Gen VK Singh, MoS and Secretary Amar Sinha to meet African students who have announced demonstration at Jantar Mantar.”

Along with the Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh also took a notice of the African National attacks and has directed the Delhi police officials to not let the attackers go unpunished and to make sure no such incident happens again in future with proper patrolling and surveillance.
