Alleged ISIS supporters in India brought to Kochi for investigation

Arshid Qureshi aged 45 and Rizwan Khan aged 53 are the alleged supporters of the much disrespected Islamic State popularly known as ISIS. The two men have been recently known for dissemination and conversion of Kochi youth into ISIS followers. Though these, men have clearly denied the fact that they are in any way imparting ISIS rules or regulations upon the youth of the State who are apparently missing.

Even their connections with Zakir Naik the most controversial name when Islamic Research Foundation is concerned are coming under light now. As even though IRF is denying all sorts of association links with Khan, he was one of the presenters at an online press conference held by Zakir Naik on 15th of July.

On the basis of the reports filed against them, Qureshi and Khan have been shifted to Kalamassery Armed Reserve Camp for proper interrogation. The remand period of their transit would conclude today on 25th July.

IG S. Sreejith, from Ernakulam range said, “Qureshi and Khan the alleged ISIS supporters in India would be produced before the court on Monday. The police would seek their custody for further interrogation. Other investigating agencies may also interrogate them.”

Previously they have been put under strict sessions of questions and answers through the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Mumbai. According to that session, “Preliminary investigations have shown that the arrested persons were allegedly encouraging people to engage in pro-ISIS activities. They were primarily involved in indoctrinating people with their ideologies.”
