In India, people have a great inclination towards religions. Every year, people visit to these pilgrimages in order to pay tribute to deity. Thousands of Indians visit to Amarnath every year. Amarnath is considered to be one of the major pilgrimages in India. Hindus devotees have a wish to visit Amarnath at least once in lifetime. This year the 60-day long annual yatra to Amarnath will commence on June 28.

Basically, Amarnath is a holy cave situated in South Kashmir Himalayas. Every year, this yatra is of 40 days but this time has been increased by 20 days. 28 June is Jyestha Purnima, an auspicious day as per Hindu calendar. It was shared by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB).

Keeping the safety measures in mind, the board discussed about implementing the guidelines passed by National Green Tribunal (NGT) in regard to the conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra. Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas as a “silence zone” by the NGT on December 13, 2017. The Board also decided on the arrangements for providing medical care and sanitation facilities to the pilgrims on all vulnerable points to the cave.

Know the guideline given by NGT
There is no restriction on chanting of mantras and singing of bhajans inside the cave shrine. It is directed that while standing in front of the “Amarnath Ji Maha Shivling” individual should maintain silence.

-The advance registration of pilgrims will start begin on March 1.
-7,500 Yatris per day on each of the two routes would be allowed to secure advance registration for the pilgrimage.
-From 32 states and Union Territories, people can register through Punjab National Bank, Jammu and Kashmir Bank and YES Bank.
