Are you an online shopping freak? Do you have that regular urge to keep scrolling down online shopping sites for no reason? Do you have almost all online shopping app in your phone? Are you one of those people who like something online but don’t purchase it because of the extra delivery charges? If yes, then all we wanted you to know that Amazon has got good news for you. It’s much prospering feature called Amazon Prime has been finally launched in India.

Don’t know what Amazon Prime is?

Amazon says, it is the perfect combination of Amazon fulfilled and free fast delivery. All the users who will be registered with Amazon Prime will get to avail the facility of free shipping on anything they want to buy and there will be no minimum price limit. Isn’t it amazing? Or should we see it as the most ‘amazong news’ we online shopping lovers can hear.

Amit Agarwal, Vice-President & Country Head, Amazon India said at the launch event that,

“With Prime, guaranteed one-day delivery becomes an everyday experience instead of an occasional indulgence, and with no minimum purchases, it provides unlimited convenience all year long.”

Through Amazon Prime its registered users will also be able to book free delivery service for next 2-3 days. Registering for this new service can be done via Amazon’s website only. One will first get a free trial of 60 days and if you sign up now, the yearly subscription will cost you Rs 499 and otherwise it is of worth Rs 999. As an extra discount, Amazon Prime users in 20 cities can get morning deliveries done as well. You know that free trial won’t last for long so signing up is required one day or another.

As far as the complete advantage of Amazon Prime is concerned, other countries are enjoying Amazon Video and Amazon Music also. But don’t worry, Greg Greeley, Vice-President Worldwide Prime, Amazon said:

“Since its inception in every country, Prime continues to evolve as we add millions of additional items that can be delivered incredibly fast and free. We have also introduced unique digital benefits like Prime Video featuring Amazon Original Series and Movies – you’ll be hearing more about that in the coming months.”

What might be lacking?

We don’t know till when the Rs 500 discount is valid to avail. Also not all products displayed on the Amazon site and app will be related to Prime. So keep checking the Prime logo on the products, before you want to make use of the free delivery service.  Better be aware rather than getting disappointed later.

Want to know something interesting?

Amazon’s home ground rival Flipkart has already launched a similar service back in 2014. But somehow it didn’t work out for the online shopping brand that much.

So it will be even more interesting to know that can Amazon Prime pull off this new streak in India successfully. We’ll have to wait and see, till then keep shopping!
