Dark clouds are again hanging over veteran music composer Anu Malik as he is most likely to be once again removed as the judge of Indian Idol. Reason behind this is sexual assault allegations made against him by singer Neha Bhasin.

It’s like deja vu for Anu Malik who last year was also removed as the Indian Idol judge following sexual harassment claims by Indian singers Shweta Pandit and Sona Mohapatra. As he was found a guilty in the #metoo movement last year, bringing him back again as a judge on the reality show sparked off angry reactions from people across India. Wave of this angry protests has forced the Sony Television and the makers of Indian Idol to reconsider their decision.

While interviewing a source from Indian Idol, a newspaper said, “Anu Malik may be shown the door in the next few weeks. They thought the backlash against him had quietly died down. They never anticipated this new rising roar of protest against his return to the show.”

Various fans and viewers through the route of social media are consistently criticising show’s makers decision of bringing back Anu Malik as a judge on the show.

Neha Bhasin who recently accused Mr. Malik of molesting her, shared her experience on Twitter last week. Neha wrote that Malik had made her uncomfortable by laying on a sofa in front of her and talking about her eyes. Bhasin says she was only 21 when the incident happened.

Singer Alisha Chinoy also accused Anu Malik of molesting her during the ‘Made in India’ song.

One of the few persons who have come out in support of Mr. Malik is Hema Sardesai.
