The 7th December is Armed Forces flag Day which marks solidarity of the nation with our soldiers and to thank them for their sacrifices they have made in guarding us.
This year, the Defence Ministry will launch a special week-long campaign has planned to celebrate the Armed Forces between December 01 to December 07 to spread awareness about the valor of armed forces. The objective is to encourage citizens to make financial contributions to the families of war heroes and promote welfare activities.
A sticker of the armed force flag will be distributed at various public places including schools and colleges. To encourage people to wear the armed forces flag with pride and show their support, there will be a digital campaign spread across Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms.

“The main objective of the campaign is to get people to make financial contributions to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFD) which is used for the welfare of disabled ex-servicemen, war widows and children of martyrs. The idea is to boost the morale of the forces and their families” officials said.
Donations are being collected as a token of respect to armed forces, anyone who would like to contribute can make payment to Kendriya Sainik Board.
Video and pictures of acts of valor of the armed forces will be put on social media with hashtag #ArmedForcesWeek. Celebrities, Politicians, Businessmen have extended their support to this great cause # among others are urging fans and followers to support the campaign.
