Arvind Kejriwal Dismissed Asim Ahmed Khan for Corruption, Dared BJP to Follow

Arvind Kejriwal Sacks Minister for Corruption

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal as a Chief Minister of Delhi, sets example for other political parties namely BJP and Congress. The CM has dismissed Environment and Food Minister Asim Ahmed Khan, on Friday 9th October Asim was allegedly caught for asking bribe. The decision was made public through press conference, called by the ruling party in the capital state.

In the conference Arvind Kejriwal kept his notes high among the media also said that “I will not spare my son, Manish Sisodia or anyone else if he or she is corrupt”. He added that Khan is accused of “nexus with a builder” and played audio clip of the one hour’s conversation held between minister and builder. The CM has asked for CBI investigation in the matter.

The position of Environment and Food is now handed over to 33 years old Imran Hussain. Soon after the announcement Kejriwal challenged bigger political parties for the similar decision, against the corrupt party members as well, he predominantly named Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, who recently became part of controversies.

It has been the second major alteration made in the six-member Aam Aadmi Party in past eight months of coming in power at Delhi. In June, Jitendra Tomar resigned from the position of Law Minister, as he was accused for manipulating his college certificates; he was replaced by Kapil Mishra. However, Kapil Mishra was again replaced by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia within two months time.

Kejriwal’s challenge has certainly pinched the bigger parties of the nation, who started mocking in media over the decision.

“Kejriwal is making an event of the sacking” said union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in his statement given to nation news channel.

Whereas Congress leader Ajay Maken commented that “party which was formed to fight corruption, is now one third of its minister is less than eight months have been caught on corruption and have been removed”.

On the other hand accused for bribe ex- Environment and Food Minister Asim Ahmed Khan said “The bribe incident is part of conspiracy done by my political opponents, will answer all question soon”.

In the negative side Arvind Kejriwal’s decision has tickled the inner party debates, but on the positive side has definitely set an example for other parties for taking a spot decision against wrong doers of party. However, it is wait and watch situation for us to see where does the party principle directs Delhi and other major parties.
