We Lost 3 Jawans in Encounter with ULFA during IED Blast in Tinsukia, Assam

In a recent ambuscade by a group joint of ULFA and NSCN, we lost three jawans of the Army and three others got serious injuries, near to the oil town of Tinsukia and Digboi districts in the region of eastern Assam. The incident happened in early hours of the Saturday morning. The jawans were from 15 Kumaon Regiment.

After this deadly incident, the army went for an operation to capture the terrorist troop. The incident had taken place in a reserve forest area which is close to Digboi near the district named Tinsukia district. The soldiers injured in the incident were lifted with the aircraft’s and immediately were admitted to the hospital.

keeping the safety measures in mind, the army has surrounded the complete area of forest in Pengri of Tinsukia.

ULFA which is a separatist body in Assam, was banned by the Government of India in the year 1990, stating it as a terrorist operation.

Unlike the previous scenario, after the BJP government came in the rule, the state has faced first attack of this kind. As per the statement of  Mugdhajyoti Dev Mahanta (Tinsukia district SP), the incident happened during the early morning hours at 5.30 AM. A Maruti Gypsy and an army truck was heading towards Digboi from Pengeri. He has named Paresh Barua behind the plot in association with NSCN.

ULFA Terriorist in Assam`

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has requested the forces to run a noteworthy operation against the culprits. He mentioned in his statement that, ” Nobody should be spared. This is an act of cowardice”.

Also, on Wednesday, the group of ULFA militants launched a shoot on a van. The vehicle was on its way towards the bank to accumulate the cash to pay off the wages for the labourers of the tea estate of Pengeri.
