Rana Daggubati Thanos

Actor Rana Daggubati, who played the ruthless character of Bhallaldeva in the Baahubali series, has lent his voice to Thanos for the Telugu version of Avengers Infinity War. Being a Marvel fan himself, Rana is quite excited for dubbing his voice for Thanos which he thinks is a villain that poses a grave threat to some of the biggest superheroes of the Marvel universe.

Rana said that he has grown up watching Marvel movies and reading Marvel comics and he is a fan of Marvel’s intricately woven stories. Considering the buzz that the trailer itself has created, it’s quite obvious that the film is going to break many records.

As per Bikram Duggal, the Executive director of Disney India, Rana was roped in to dub for Thanos to create a wider audience base and the while staying true to the ethos of the Marvel brand.

However, Disney India is known to have followed the same strategy of approaching popular Indian actors for dubbing so as to ensure that the film is a hit in India. The Jungle Book in 2016 was released in Hindi with voices of Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan, Om Puri, Nana Patekar and others. Besides, Varun Dhawan lent his voice to Captain America for the movie ‘Captain America Civil War’.

Coming back to Avengers Infinity War, it’s being touted as the most ambitious crossover of superheroes that one has ever seen. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and produced by Kevin Feige, the movie will release in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on April 27.

The film features Robert Downey Jr, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlet Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Elizabeth Olsen, Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Josh Brolin, and others.
