Baahubali 2 breaks Box Office records, crossed 100 crore mark; Hindi version bags Rs 36.54 crore

S.S Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali 2: The Conclusion netted over Rs 100 crore at the theatre counters spread across the country. Sources say that the film has done immensely well and has acclaimed the best ever opening for any Indian film.

The film has garnered a superb response from all states, but the southern states have shown unprecedented response. The film has crossed all records and earned huge sums across various location. Although the correct figures are  still being tabulated, trends and analysis has spewed sanguinity for the box office, which has not earned such quantum in the last two years.

Ace filmmaker Karan Johar, who had acquired the rights to present the movie’s Hindi version expressed his happiness over the astounding opening of the film. “GRAND INDIA TOTAL OF 121 crores NET!!!!! HINDI IS 41 crores!!! TAMIL + TELUGU + MALAYALAM = 80 crores!!!! HISTORY HAS BEEN CREATED!!!!!!” Karan tweeted.

Originally made in Telugu, the second part in the franchise was dubbed in Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam. From Kerala, the film netted a sum of around Rs. 7 crore on Friday.

“The film has taken a phenomenal opening. In Andhra and Telangana, the film in Telugu minted Rs 53 crore, making it the biggest opening ever for any film across language in the two states. The film is expected to collect over Rs 100 crore from the two states over the weekend,” he said.

Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst said the Hindi version of the film collected Rs. 36.54 crore. “Truly sensational… Rs. 36.54 cr. Hindi,” Adarsh tweeted.

A whopping sum of Rs 12 crore was earned as profit (after deducting all taxes) in Tamil Nadu. “If the early morning shows were not cancelled across Tamil Nadu on Friday, the film could have collected even more. According to early estimates, it has minted around Rs. 12 crore. It’s going pick up over the weekend,” Trinath informed.

Bahubali 2 Cast includes Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan in the lead.
