In the lights of past incidents, Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar with his comment accepted that incidents like Dadri would damage BJP and the NDA. He also added that some of these incidents were blown out of proportion by the vested political interest.
The defense minister during a public interaction event in Goa on Sunday, said “I think these incidents would actually damage BJP and NDA. It also damages the cause or the vision that Prime Minister has and therefore it cannot be of interest of BJP or NDA and the country as a whole”.
Comment from Defense Minister came at the time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was being publicly questioned for not commenting on the lynching of 52 year old Mohammad Akhlaq, was killed by the mob on the speculation of consuming beef at his home.
However, Narendra Modi did comment over the case later, along with a request to his cabinet to avoid passing controversial statement publicly. He also requested people to ignore such comments for the sake of peace in the country.
Manohar Parrikar in his conversation with local media, pointed out Rajya Sabha MP of UP without mentioning his name or any particular incident said, that “sometimes such outbreak are blown out by proportion. I am not referring to any specific instance, but it has been discovered that issues which are local in nature, they are given national coverage, maybe because some politicians wants to make it a national issue”.
Parrikar being a hardcore RSS person completely denied any involvement of Rashtriya Swayamesevak Sangh in these communal incidents, emphasizing on Dadri case, while the RSS has been given clean chit over the issue.
I am a hardcore RSS person from childhood, I can assure that this had nothing to do with RSS” said Parrikar.
Minister of Defense commenting on increasing demand of Hindu groups for a ban on Beef, said “decision will taken over the demand, after considering various factors which includes health and cruelty to animals along with the sensitivity of the others, so that decision can be fair for everyone”.
