BSP workers protest rally against Dayashankar Singh in Lucknow

The derogatory remark of former Uttar Pradesh BJP Vice-president Dayashankar Singh on Mayavati has filled the BSP workers with rage. The Bahujan Samaj Party workers have held a protest rally against the defamatory remark and asked for the arrest of Dayashankar Singh. The protest was held on Thursday at Hazratganj area. The permission of such protest was denied by the Lucknow District Magistrate but protestors gathered in huge numbers at the Ambedkar statue.

The Lucknow DM said that “Due to the heavy traffic issues along with the public inconvenience and security matters; we don’t allow people to protest at Hazratganj area.”

It is the heart of the city and thus, heavy security was deployed at Hazratganj, a shopping area at the heart of Lucknow. Security arrangements were also increased at the BJP’s state office.

Dayashankar Singh has a track record of passing unnecessary remarks during his rallies and thus he was suspended for six years from BJP and also sacked from his post. This time, he compared Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati to a prostitute. However, he had apologized for his remarks, but the workers are not ready to go the matter peacefully. The issue led to an uproar in the Parliament.
