Central Government employees; railways employees likely to get a bonus. Details inside

The Indian Government is toying with the idea of doubling the number of Central Government employees who are covered under the ambit of the pension scheme. This is a great news for the central government employees.

The government is bringing as many as 6 crore employees under this ambit. The current pension fund is Rs 3.09 crores, and that will be doubled up, by the government.

The other important news in this space is that the government would not be raising the minimum pay and fitment factor anywhere beyond the recommendations.

Not only this. While the central government is planning to double the central government employees, even Uttar Pradesh is also toying with the same idea. Yogi Adityanath is planning to give a bonus to the employees by October end.

The decision will shower benefits to around 18 lakh employees. The current status shows as Dearness Allowance of 7% – this will increase to 9% after the announcement.

Even the Railway employees are likely to get a bonus of 78-day work this year. This comes in after the Railway Board has proposed the 78-day wages as productivity-linked bonus (PLB) for 2017-18 after detailed discussions with rail unions. The Cabinet will approve the proposal.

The bonus for railways employees and the central government employees are entering the electioneering phase. The idea of showering benefits on the government employees is a great idea as it increases their standards of livelihood. The entire plan is to benefit the employees, ensuring that they stick to the organisation and are satisfied with their pay.
