International Yoga Day: Chandigarh will host with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as Chief Guest

Celebration of International Yoga Day on 21st June deserves a serene place to mix well the peaceful yoga emotions. What better place than Chandigarh to host this special day for India, after all yoga is one precious gift to the world from India itself. To make event even more authentic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the entire program.

It was in 2014, when United Nations has listed June 21st as International Yoga Day. How can we forget the day when PM Modi himself took the initiative to head the yoga drill at India Gate, and everyone present there followed him religiously.

 Undoubtedly it was one great piece of news for us the Indians; mainly because doting of this international level significance, only could we realize how pertinent Yoga is for the entire world.

Today with reference to this celebration, Anil Vij, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister of Haryana, said, “The governments of Haryana and Punjab and the Chandigarh administration would jointly host International Yoga Day in Chandigarh on June 21.

Chandigarh’s Capitol Complex in sector 1 has been chosen as the venue for the event. All the arrangements are to be seen and managed by the Central Government.

Now as far as performing yoga is concerned, “More than 10,000 people from Haryana would participate in the event. The participants would include school and college students and teachers, Home Guards and police personnel,” said Mr Vij.
