Chandra Kanta Meghwal Caught Red-handed on Camera for “Gundagardi” in Public

A puny fight over Rajasthan traffic police issuing a challan ticket to BJP worker Chandra Kanta Meghwal degenerated into a public brawl when the lawmaker’s husband barged into Mahaveer Nagar police station in Kota with local BJP workers and slapped a police officer on duty this Monday. The accused, along with her husband Narendra Meghwal, a couple of party workers and five police officers were charged for voluntarily hurting a public servant and causing violence in public. After Meghwal framed the cops for ‘manhandling’ her, the agitated supporters set a nearby IOC petrol pump on fire thus, causing violence in the city.

Regardless of the fact that Meghwal hatched a crooked conspiracy to frame Rajasthan police for assault, her felony was caught on camera (You can watch it in the video embedded in this article). The news spread like a forest fire, highlighting the boisterous, disorderly nature of lawmakers in Rajasthan.

BJP MLA from Ramganjmandi Embarrasses Rajasthan Government, Falsely Frames the Police of Physical Assault

This Monday, Naresh Meghwal and Chandra kanta Meghwal were spotted arguing with Rajasthan police. The belligerent group of Meghwal followers surrounded the police and pressurised them to cancel their traffic challan. The situation went out of control when Mr Meghwal slapped a police officer and threatened the cops present on spot. The police had to use batons to control the aggravated mob that retaliated by throwing stones. The officers on duty were thrashed, threatened and manhandled—a disgraceful stunt that put Rajasthan BJP to shame.

However, the bigger question is that what led to this public outburst? It was just a MLA trying to misuse her power in hopes of amending laws as per her convenience. And, that’s not all! She issued a statement in public, alleging the cops that in this fight, her bangles were broken and sari was torn. Nevertheless, this is something that we’ve expected of her. In past, the MLA has falsely accused the Jats of assaulting SC/STs in Rajasthan—a hypothetical statement that can sow seeds of communalism in Rajasthan.

Consequently, Sawai Singh Godara, Kota Superintendent of Police directed an enquiry. They registered five criminal cases against the BJP MLA and booked the group of protestants along with DSP, CI and three other cops at Mahaveernagar Police Station in Kota.

Rajasthan cabinet minister Rajendra Rathore expressed his views on this market. He told the media that the government will take strict action against the offenders, irrespective of whether they’re a part of government or not.

The wounds of Jaipur molestation were still fresh on the bosom of Rajasthan government and now, this incident has raised important questions before the government—Have women started misusing their power in Rajasthan? Do lawmakers think that they can bend laws as per their convenience? Will the government put the culprits in place?

This is not the first time that the government is facing the brunt of outrageous outbursts of MPs and MLAs. Over the years, local leaders were charged of tarnishing the party’s image with their misdemeanour. It’s high time the government should knock some sense into rowdy felons like Meghwal to send a strong message across that the government will not tolerate transgression from anyone, may it be a common man or the lawmaker himself.
