Jaipur lately hosted the India Today Digital India Conclave on Wednesday. Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt. Vasundhara Raje was invited as the chief guest for the event. While she was addressing the India Today’s Digital India Conclave in the beautiful pink city she emphasized on the fact that Rajasthan has emerged as a leading state in IT and e-governance. She said, “Rajasthan is, in fact, a state of Firsts when it comes to e-Governance. We were the first state in India to start Electronic Service Delivery – way back in 2004 and our efforts became the inspiration behind the Central Government initiating the Common Service Center Scheme.”

Digital literacy is the ability to use technology to navigate, evaluate and create information. In today’s knowledge based economy, what you ear depends on what you learn. CM Raje further said, “Information Technology can change lives of people. Keeping this in view our government has prepared comprehensive e-Governance architecture so that benefits of various schemes and programmes could reach directly and quickly to the beneficiaries.” Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India once said, IT+IT=IT that means Indian talent + Information technology = India tomorrow. Following on the same path Rajasthan’s CM,

Vasundhara Raje in the past 2.5 years of her regime has with her initiatives and various schemes has made up an environment conducive to nurturing IT and enabled services. Vasundhara Raje has always believed in providing the best to the needies. She at every stage ensures that the benefits of the various government schemes and programs should reach the beneficiaries. To take this to another level and to make sure that no wrong practice can be done in the process, CM Raje made everything go online. With the help of e-governance, she has ensured the benefits of the government schemes are reaching the beneficiaries directly. She said, “The ‘Bhamashah Scheme’ saw its genesis when we proposed financial inclusion and women empowerment by opening a bank account and putting in seed money in the name of women head of household. we have given effect to the fastest and widest implementation of electronic PDS, state wide GPS based monitoring of vehicles and we have also implemented a delivery gateway with more than 10 lac transactions a day. An IT workforce of more than 8,000 personnel is working to translate our dreams of a Digital Rajasthan to reality.”

At the India Today, Digital India Conclave, she said, “In Rajasthan we have a comprehensive e-Governance architecture in place. We are conscious of the fact that the IT and enabled services create jobs and hence our forward looking IT and ITES Policy. We have a Start up Policy that supports youth in incubating ideas that can turn out to be game changers. Renowned names like IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, SAS, CISCO, ESRI, AUTODESK etc. partnering us in our efforts. We have full faith in partnerships and the eco-system has enough space for more partners to join us to assist and achieve the vision for a truly Digital Rajasthan.”

Certainly the dream of Digital India is not far from being accomplished, and Rajasthan is becoming the biggest contributor. This would not have been possible with the initiatives and schemes Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has taken for the state in her regime.
