Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt. Vasundhara Raje has made several policies and planned various government programs for the welfare of the people of Rajasthan in the last two years of Government time-span. Vasundhara Raje, along with her dedicated team of officials is working hard for bringing a change in the life of people of Rajasthan. From the past 2 years, she was fabricating policies and campaigns, which would benefit people on a larger scale and now she is evaluating all the work done under her planned schemes and other government projects on a regular basis. For this, Raje is on a 4-day tour of the state to grade the progress of different projects under the Government program, “Aapka Zila, Aapki Sarkar”.

As stated in the earlier article

Day 1 Aapka Zila, Aapki Sarkar: Surprise Visit of Vasundhara Raje to Dungarpur

also, she made a surprise visit to Devalkhas area of Dungarpur district on the first day of her state tour. The details of the first day can be found in the link above mentioned.

On the second day also, Vasundhara Raje was on surprise visit of various areas of Dungarpur District and checked out the working and progress of the various Government schemes, services and programs. Her team also accompanied her in this surprise inspection and where the CM thought that the work done was not sufficient, she directed her officials to take proper actions for the rectification of errors in the implementation of those projects.

Raje was quite outraged on witnessing unfavorable conditions of hostel of Regional Tribe Development Department situated behind Maharwal State Secondary School. She reached the hostel after passing through a small bridge constructed over sewer and noticed squalor spread in front of and all over the entrance gate. There, she met a department clerk and he informed her that the Hostel warden is in-charge of two places which came as a shock to her. She talked to students living there and listened to all their problems related to the place. The students complained about the food available to them. Also, they informed her that there are no toilets in the hostel. Hearing to this, she got upset and directed the collector to address all the grievances of students and notified the Public Works Department to make immediate repairs of the damaged building.

The students also informed her that during evening, various miscreants visit the nearby places of hostel and do mischief. Raje asked the students to make police complaint whenever such incident happens and also directed Collector to send the police constables there on a regular basis and stop such activities. Vasundhara Raje was concerned over the cleanliness of the place and notified her team to make arrangements for sports on the hostel ground. Instructions to send the photo of revamping done along with the required information to the District Collector were given.

On the way, CM noticed the cloth bags into the hands of some women from Bhoiwada area and asked Secretary Gayatri Rathore that if people can use cloth bags in Dungarpur than why we can’t use these cloth bags in Jaipur? She asked to take required steps in this area and make Jaipur a polythene free city.

On the way, she stopped her convoy in Surpur village at one of the ‘Annapurna Store’ and asked the store manager to show her the quality of products purchased by consumers. The high prices were the reason of concern for her and then she investigated that an object priced Rs. 53 is sold to consumers at the price of Rs. 72 and with the MRP of Rs. 130. She noticed that the store manager is selling the commodities on high prices whereas; the Annapurna Stores were aimed to sell the commodities lower than the market rate. She directed Collector Solanki to take a note of this and be cautious in future in laying off such store managers on immediate basis. Later she talked to all the villagers and urged them to buy the high-quality product from Annapurna Stores.

Then she moved towards Ghugra Panchayat and noticed several under constructed ‘Indira Aawas’. So, she called the Rural Development Department Secretary Rajive Thakur from the spot and directed him to take necessary steps in this matter. Also, she directed the collector to conduct an audit of the Ghugra Village.

The villagers of the Ghugra village brought it to her notice that Baroda Rajasthan Gramin Bank doesn’t let them withdraw money from their account for the purpose of construction under “Indira Aawas” Scheme. She talked to the Chief Secretary, directing him to have a meeting with the concerned bank and resolve such issues.

In the way, she also visited the hostel maintained by the Department of Regional Tribe Department of Madha village. The hostel was in a very bad shape which made CM upset and thus, she scolded the warden of the hostel. Also, she directed the collector to demolish such dilapidated constructions and construct some new buildings in its place according to a set plan.

On the tour, CM was quite upset to see uncompleted toilets all over the village of Kankardara Panchayat and hence directed the local officials to take the matter seriously. She doesn’t want the Government grants to go wasted and thus asked the officials to make regular inspection of the place and do the needful exercise for the construction of toilets in every house.

She also went to Genji village and heard villagers. Listening to all the issues, she asked the concerned officials to take necessary steps for the welfare of people.

She gave a message to everyone that it is necessary for every official to come together and work for the effective implementation of Government schemes. Through this way only, the ultimate benefit of the schemes would reach the poor section of the society. Regarding this, Raje held a meeting on Monday evening at the Dungarpur District council EDP hall under the “Aapka Zila, Aapki Sarkar” program with SDO, BDO and police officers of district. There, she discussed issues like crime rates and security, progress of NAREGA, tree plantation in the region with Geo-tagging and other development programs like Clean India Mission, Indira Awas, Bhamashah seeding operations, inspection of ration shops, e-friends monitoring, etc. She kept her opinion that if the bodies work systematically at the block, Zila and area level and then there will no reason for problems to reach the capital city for solutions. The meeting was attended by Dungarpur district in-charge Minister Otaram Devasi, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Harsh Vardhan Singh, MLA Devendra Katara, Mr. Sushil Katara, Mrs. Anita Katara, Mr. Gopichand Meena, District Chief Mr. Madhavlal Varhat, and Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Rakesh Verma, Principal Secretary Tribal Development Shri Khemaraaj, TAD Commissioner Shri Bhawani Singh Detha, Udaipur range IG Anand Srivastava, including other senior district officers.

CM expressed her view clearly that this Government is very focused and aimed towards the development of Tribal in the state. This issue is always treated with priority and the whole budget assigned for the TSP area should be fully utilized with 100% transparency, so that the tribal people may get benefited by it.

Under the program, “Aapka Zila, Aapki Sarkar”, the review meeting held for discussing the situation and progress of the areas was held. She directed the officials and public representatives to go for surprise visits in their respective regions and take the reviews of locals. They should examine the working and implementation of the plans and schemes on the ground level and notify the government if they are facing any difficulty while implementing a particular scheme. Their focus should be on the overall development of the area along with the development of tribes of Dungarpur district. All the hostels for the tribal students should be maintained properly with basic infrastructure facilities like toilets and kitchens. Cleanliness of the villages should be taken care of properly by Collectors and Divisional Commissioners.

“Corruption will not be taken lightly and anyone involved in it will be severely punished. There would be Zero tolerance for corrupts,” this message by Vasundhara Raje to her team was made in very clear and strict words in the meeting. In this regard, she said that all the “Annaporna Stores” should have a board outside the shop displaying the rates of various commodities available in the store. Anyone found taking undue advantage of a government scheme and taking more than the prescribed amount from the villagers will be punished. She strictly instructed the Logistics officers to improve the system and stop the arbitrary conduct of ration dealers and store managers.

The District Collector Surendra Kumar Solanki presented the facts, figures and report of the various development and progress works done under the various Government programs. Raje directed all the officials attending the meeting to focus on increasing the ‘Happiness Index’.

The meeting went smoothly and Raje, along with her officials discussed the future prospects of path which can lead Rajasthan towards an overall sustainable development. CM Vasundhara Raje is of the view that it is not easy to bring a change but if we do team efforts, it will not be very difficult also. With combined efforts, we can achieve greater heights and join hands with the entire world into a golden era where not only Rajasthan, but the whole India will shine like a “Star”.
