Doddallahalli Kempegowda Shivakumar aka DK, the energy minister of Karnataka is called by many names. Crowd mobilizer, money mag, muscle man, troubleshooter, the list is endless! Being the most dependable man in Karnataka Congress, he’s the go-to person for all rhymes and reasons. Despite having many supporters, DK couldn’t escape the clutches of law.
Shivakumar, hailing from a middle-class agriculturist family, dropped out of school after failing class 8 numerous times. He lost the Sathanur assembly constituency to Gowda in 1985 but later emerged as a minister under Karnataka government. Considering his humble background, it was quite surprising that the 55-year-old politician is the second richest minister in the country having assets worth Rs 251 crores.
Controversy’s favorite child Shivakumar has been lately making arrangements for the stay of 44 Gujarat Congress MLAs in a holiday resort located in Bengaluru. Based on a tip off received from anonymous sources, the Income Tax department raided Shivakumar’s properties this week. The taxmen seized Rs 11 crores in cash from various locations.
The raids at resort and Shivakumar’s properties expose the corrupt nature of the Congressman. While the BJP is determined to ‘expose’ Kumar’s black deeds, the Congress wreaked havoc on the parliament, blaming BJP for the unprecedented witch hunt!
