Dancing legend Jeetendra turns 76; Check these throwback images

He is the dancing legend and romantic Bollywood actor. In fact, no one can carry white shoes like him. He is none other than Jeetendra, father of Ekta Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor. He was born as Ravi Kapoor in Amritsar, Punjab on 7th April 1942. He was born to Amarnath and Krishna Kapoor. Jeetendra had married his childhood love Shobha Kapoor. They got married in 1974. Their marriage was private ceremony where only few family members and friends were present.

Jeetendra worked in almost 200 films over a time span on three decades from 1960 to 1990. Talking about his dancing style, he was also known as the ‘Jumping Jack of Bollywood’. V. Shantaram’s movie Geet Gaya Pattharon Ne was the first major break of his filmy career. He had worked with most of the top actresses of the era namely Sridevi, Jaya Prada, Hema Malini, Rekha, Moushmi Chatterjee, Neetu Singh, Reena Roy and many more.

For his contributions to film industry, he has been honoured with many awards including Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. He is now Chairman of the Balaji Telefilms, Balaji Motion Pictures and ALT Entertainment.
