Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is on three-day Russia visit from April 3

Capital of Russia will be hosting the seventh Moscow Conference on International Security. To attend this conference, Indian Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be travelling to Russia from April 3-5, 2018. It is her first visit to Russia as the Defence Minister. This is confirmed by a statement issued from Indian Embassy in Moscow.

In this three-day visit, she will also meet her Russian counterpart Army General Sergei Shoigu and other senior leaders too. As per statement from Indian Embassy, this meeting will offer high-level exchanges between India and Russia. It will provide an opportunity to reinforce the traditional warm relations particularly in reference to Military Technical Cooperation.

Details about seventh Moscow Conference on International Security
In Moscow, the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation is organizing a Conference on International Security on 4-5 April 2018. This year, the Conference will be focused on the defeat of terrorists in Syria. There will be discussion on Russia’s experience on combating ISIL, provide estimates on post-conflict rehabilitation and further development of the situation in the Middle East. In this forum, the security issues facing Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America will also be discussed.
