FIR Lodged Against Raveena Tandon for Shooting in No Camera Zone

Raveena-tandon-FIR

An FIR has been lodged against actress Raveena Tandon by the authorities of Shri Lingraj Temple. Reportedly, Raveena was shooting for an advertisement in the no camera zone inside the premises of Lord Shiva Shrine. The shrine dates back to 11th century and the site is protected by ASI where people are not allowed to capture photos or videos.

The incident came to light when a video surfaced on social media featuring Raveena Tandon giving beauty tips inside the temple premises. The video was recorded by a person on a mobile phone when the actress was paying a visit to the Lingraj temple. Soon after the video came out, the authorities lodged an FIR against the Bollywood actress for shooting for an advertisement in the no camera zone.

Bhubaneswar DCP Satybrat Bhoi admitted about the complaint and told media that the allegations are being examined by the police. Besides, the Archaeological Survey of India has also launched an investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, Rajiv Lochan Parida, the management in-charge of the temple said that the incident has hurt the sentiments of the devotees. Since no one, except the servitors, is allowed to carry their phones inside, the filming of the video is a clear case of violation of the security norms, added Parida.

In her defense, Raveena said that she was not aware of the phone ban and also clarified that no one in the temple warned her team about the use of mobile phone inside the temple. She further cleared that it wasn’t an advertisement and her fans randomly started asking her questions to which she responded.

The actress also tweeted her response on a screen capture from the video pointing out that the phone wasn’t in her hands. Rather the local tourists were carrying their phones and taking selfies.
