Come, Let’s Celebrate Gandhi Jayanti by playing our part in Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Two years back, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Swachch Bharat Mission on the 145th anniversary of Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, made each and every countryman euphoric. Our great Gandhi once said, “Sanitation is more important than Independence”. After many years of independence, we are still living in a dirty environment and putting our lives in danger every moment. According to the data, around 30% of the rural people do not have safe access to the toilets and use open defecation system in the fields.

So, our Prime Minister announced this project, but we can say that during the whole year, there was a slow transformation. People are changing but a little more awareness is required. Though our society never hoped for a sweeping change but welcomed this new optimism for sure. Is that because we as a nation rather than participating in the revolution only chose to criticize it and say that it is only on papers and not working in reality. All we expect is that our PM starts some kind of system that doesn’t require citizen’s participation and efforts. On one hand, we appreciate western countries but we are not ready to learn from them.

After two years, we notice that the progress is obviously slow and it is not according to the grade to go with the ballyhoo campaigning as crown jewel project of PM Modi. Are we seriously thinking that he could achieve this without our active participation and he alone is going to fix this in his 5-year tenure. But, there were some still working on it seriously and trying to bring a change.

We surely are not to go into details of the success of Swachch Bharat Mission as you would have already come to know about it from media and newspapers, but shouldn’t you ask to yourself, that what have you done so far and how do you see this change coming through?

So, we would urge you all to pledge on this Gandhi Jayanti to support and be a part of this Swachch Bharat Mission not just by words but by actions as well. It is the world known fact that ‘Actions speak louder than words.’

P.S. Bapu must be expecting a brilliant birthday gift from all of us on 2nd October 2019. Happy Gandhi Jayanti!
