Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan google doodle

On 67th Birthday of one of the legendary Qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, a tribute is extended by search engine giant “Google” through customized search panel, portraying Gazal maestro in a signature pose with microphone in front and musician on the background. The master of qawwali and sufi music was born Lyallpur in Faisalabad in Pakistan on 13th October 1948, he belonged to family of musicians. The customized doodle is visible in as much as six countries including India and Pakistan.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan 67th Birth Anniversary

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan popularized the qawwali and semi-classical Pakistani music by mixing it with modern beats and percussion. The legend met his life destiny at an early age of 48 years on 16th August 1997, in London. He was then at the peak of career, but unfortunately died due to cardiac arrest. Even in his short life, Fateh Ali Khan became very popular not only in Pakistan but more largely in India, as in his career he had also composed few gazals for Bollywood movies.

The qawwali king through his active participation in Bollywood music, tried to bridge the political gap between India and Pakistan. He single-handedly proved that music and love are not bounded to borders between both the countries.

However, Google’s tribute was not opposed by Shiv Sena as he was Pakistani by nationality and the party did not want any relation with Pakistan, so what will Shiv Sena do to demoralize tribute of legend, who was also guardian of peace and unity.

It seems like Shiv Sena will throw stone at office of Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, for allowing Google to display customized panel across India, like they did with top diplomat with an Ink attack for participating in book launch of Pakistan’s Ex-Foreign minister.

The point is not to blow up any protest against a tribute extended by Google for the noble soul, but to say that parties like Shiv Sena are not doing anything patriotic, moreover their shameful acts are an insult for our country and its integrity.
