It was getting difficult for National badminton coach Pullela Gopichand to train two renowned badminton players at the same place. This issue was plaguing badminton coach Pullela Gopichand so he decided to train Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu at different venues.
As per the one of the famous newspapers, Gopichand has been training Sindhu and Saina at separate academies over the last few days. Under the new arrangement, Gopichand has to divide his time between the two academies. He has two training centres at a distance of half a kilometer.
Till the time the new academy came up a few years back, the singles players have been training there. Well.. these two have been trained after the team came back from CWG.
Reasons for separate training
“In the interest of the players, our coaching team has taken this decision. I had earlier trained them in separate schedules. We do whatever suits the players best,” Gopichand said. As these young and shining players are not comfortable in being trained together, this decision has been taken. This decision is taken in interest of players.
Well.. it is quite known that Saina Nehwal left Gopichand’s Academy in September 2014. There are opinions that the rise of Sindhu led to Saina’s exit. She, later on, joined Vimal Kumar’s academy where she achieved the world No. 1 rank. Saina returned to previous coach last year. Saina is in better form after returning and she even defeated Sindhu.
