The government has proposed an another attempt to offer a compromise formula to the opposition who are in continuous oppose of the demonetisation policy. The offer contains that there would be discussion on the matter of demonetisation but it would not be put to vote.
A senior in ministers mentioned that, ” We are talking to all Opposition parties and a way out is possible.
One option is to suspend Question Hour in the Lok Sabha and have a discussion without any voting”. He further added that, “the Opposition has given feelers that this proposition is acceptable to it”.
There are only 4 days remaining for this session to get finished. The senior ministers had meeting with opposition (Congress) to bring out the different ways on the table for resolving the debatable issue. There will be holiday on December13 on the occasion of Prophet Mohammad’s birthday.
As per the statements of BJP, they are in discussions terms with opposition parties and there are possibilities of a way out.
Though, most of the MPs are not involving themselves with the optimistic responses of Union ministers and also felt that session may come to an end after two of the supplementary demands for grants mentioned by the government are passed.
Meanwhile, Sumitra Mahajan advised the committee to come to an understanding and finish the House deadlock. She mentioned this at Business Advisory Committee of the Lok Sabha. As per her, the discussion took more time than required. Also, Ananth Kumar (Parliamentary Affairs Minister) mentioned that the rivals should come to discussion table for bringing this to an end.
Opposition leaders also went through trail of meetings and concluded that December 8 should be marked as “Black Day” as it completes the one month of the announcement of the demonetisation.It has been decided that a joint press conference will be kept by the opposition.
