Rajasthan Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje had organized a road show for creating hype and awareness for Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM) 2016, in Mumbai on Monday. The GRAM is scheduled to be held in Jaipur from November 9 to 11, 2016. The respective departments have really worked hard in making the event a global success and Vasundhara Raje is planning to portray Rajasthan as the future agricultural hub. The financial growth of farmers is the main aim of GRAM through an accelerated sustainable growth.

This initiative of State Government is being supported and co-organized by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) so that the farmers can reach new heights, set new goals and aim for a developed agriculture sector in Rajasthan in terms of processing agriculture and allied sectors.

Agriculture is not a new topic to discuss but definitely a huge one. The technological advancements are essential to be introduced in the Indian Agricultural sector so that India can achieve number one position in the world market in the agricultural sector. GRAM is organized to grab opportunities as Rajasthan is the only state with 10 agro-climatic zones. A little improvement in the quality and quantity of production will surely boost a farmer’s income in Rajasthan” said Prabhu Lal Singh, Minister of Agriculture, while addressing a press conference.

The Principal Secretary of Agriculture and Horticulture, Government of Rajasthan, Ms. Neelkamal Darbari, said that “The main objective behind organizing such a road show is to showcase the better and worthy investment opportunities in the agricultural sector of the state and advertise it as an attractive investment destination. In the past years, Rajasthan has made significant development in the sector of infrastructure. Also, a major portion of its land is available for agriculture activities. With some support and the right guidance, the state has the potential to export its production in the coming years. Keeping this in mind, the Government has inculcated various policies and advances including 50% exemption in payment of Mandi fee and 100% exemption in land conversion charges.”

The Minister added that “Other facilities like subsidy will also be available to different people associated with matters like research and development, post-harvest crop management, purchasing cattle, poultry and fish feed and units with a turnover of Rs 25 lakh or more. Online registration of MSMEs is also commenced to save time and cut-short the lengthy process.”

During this event, the state farmers will have favorable circumstances for the farmers along with the prospective investors who are looking forward to investing in a high-yielding sector. The GRAM event will be attended by representatives from the Netherlands, Israel, Australia and Canada along with approx. 50,000 farmers.

All we got to do is to focus on safe, high-quality, nutritional production while doing the optimum use of water and new innovations in the techniques of farming. This sort of information and education will surely bring more awareness among the farmers which in turn would definitely help them in increasing their financial status. That’s why CM Vasundhara Raje has personally requested all farmers to attend GRAM and be a part of developing Rajasthan.
