Indian Harnaaz Sandhu on Sunday selected around 80 nominees for the 70th Miss Universe pageant as part of the beauty pageant influenced by politics and contagion.
Andrea Meza of Mexico, who previously ran Miss Universe, crowned her successor and Bollywood actress in the Israeli resort of Eilat on the Red Sea. The race took place in the middle of the night at 5 a.m. local time (10 p.m. EST), in time for prime time in the United States.

The race has also been tense in recent days with the arrival of the Omicron variant, which Israel forced to close its borders to tourists last month.
