The IIFA Stomp is a free-for-public Bollywood event which is being held at the Times Square. With a large number of fans pouring in at the event to taste the Desi-Bollywood life, the IIFA Stomp event ought to be a grand success.
This will be the 18th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) which will be an extravagant three-day affair started from Thursday.
Shahid Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Gulshan Grover Taapsee Pannu, Huma Qureshi, Shilpa Shetty, Dia Mirza, Varun Dhawan, Disha Patani, and many others graced the IIFA event adding to the glitz and glamour quotient at the Times Square.
Myntra’s collection was presented by Taapsee, while Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Neha Dhupia and Disha Patani were show-stoppers for the designer duo Falguni Shane Peacock.
Sonaakshi Raaj, a jewelry designer presented her collection at the IIFA stomp with Huma Qureshi being the showstopper.
“Times Square is really where the world meets, and New York is a very multicultural society. Hundreds of languages are spoken here… 36 per cent of New York is immigrants. It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase our soft power,” Riva Ganguly Das, India’s Consul General in New York.
Times Square had been thronged by a large group of enthusiastic fans who were waiting to click picture-perfect selfies with their favorite actors and Bollywood stars.
Only those people who have room keys in the Sheraton Hotel can enter the private area which has been reserved for meeting these actors. A certain badge has been allocated to certain people, who will be granted entry on showing off the badge.
Fans across the world have been taking several pictures of the stars and it is a frenzied moment which has swept the Times Square like never before.
