India-China border tussle: China preps up to build “Class-40 road”; India beefs up border security

Tensions between the World’s most populated countries, India and China is only becoming severe and grave. The two countries are in a bid to amplify the security measures at the remote border region.

The Chinese Army has already deployed over 3,000 troops at the tri-junction. On the other hand, Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat took stock of the situation and has devised necessary arrangements to handle the situation effectively.

On the other hand, Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat took stock of the situation and has devised necessary arrangements to handle the situation effectively.

If sources are to be believed, the new troops deployed at the tri-junction (Do KaLa area) pose a major threat to the country. On Thursday, Chief Rawat visited the headquarters of the 17 Mountain Division in Gangtok and 27 Mountain Division in Kalimpong. Not only this, General Bipin Rawat has deployed four brigades exclusively for the protection of Sikkim.

India has spelled out its verdict that the idea of building a motorable road by Beijing will not be entertained. Likewise, Bhutan has also issued a warning to China in this connection. Bhutan has expressed its dissent over constructing the road which leads to its army camp in Zomplri Doklam.

Sources say: ” A Class-40 road’ is being built by China in the Doklam plateau. The road can take the weight of military vehicles weighing up to 40 tonnes, which may include light battle tanks, artillery guns and alike.”

India has greater concerns over the “Class-40 road” as it will beef up the vulnerability of Siliguri corridor, also known as the ‘Chicken’s Neck’ area.

In addition to the unreasonable works being done by China, it has already built multiple feeder roads from Tibet to the border with Bhutan.

We are sanguine about improving sentiments across territorial borders but seems like China is unyielding. The country is, however, optimistic about better conditions if NaMo would take charge.
