It has been a recent trend where movie stars, cricketers, musicians, all are naming their babies after places. But it is only one name of one place and one country which has been repeated twice to become a representation for a star baby. It is none other than INDIA.
It is a name first given to Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky’s daughter and later on the news was splurged with another celebrity naming his child India Rose. It was South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes and his wife Melanie Jeanne who proudly announced their baby girl by the name India.
When asked for the reason behind it, Chris told one of the leading magazines, “It was just a name we liked. I always kind of liked Indie or Indiana for a boy, and she (Elsa) liked India. We sort of went, ‘Oh well, whether it’s a boy or girl, that will decide matters.’ It just seemed to fit.” India Rose is their first child.
Whereas Jonty Rhodes explained his reason by saying,”I have spent a lot of time in India. What I love about India is its rich mix of culture, heritage and tradition. It is a very spiritual country, very forward-thinking nation. I really like that combination. You have to have a good balance of life. With the name like India, she will have the best of both worlds and that sort of balance.”
Well this is something we Indians should be proud of, don’t you think? When non-Indians are so fascinated by the simple name India, it surely states the fact that there is some sort of inspiring aura we and our country exhales.
