India Bag third Asia Hockey Cup Title beating Malaysia by 2-1

Asia Hockey Cup: India wins third title

After a long wait of 10 years, India won the third Asia Hockey Cup Title by beating Malaysia by 2-1 in the finals. Prior to this, India had won the title in 2003 and 2007 but this victory is special as it has arrived after a decade.

The final match held in Dhaka on Sunday witnessed two goals from India in the third and 29th minute of the game. On the other hand, the Malaysian team had to wait until the 50th minute to score the goal after which the struggle ended up in a disappointment.

The goal scorers in the match from Indian Hockey Team were Ramandeep Singh and Lalit Upadhayay. Ramandeep scored the first goal of the match putting India in the lead with an easy hit. Later, Lalit doubled the lead by scoring another goal for team India.

After the victory, eminent personalities like PM Modi as well as Actor Amitabh Bachchan lauded the Indian Hockey Team through their respective tweets. These are mentioned as follows:

In the 50th minute of the game, the excitement reached its peak when Malaysia stroked its first goal. Eleven minutes into the game, and on the way to equalize the game, the runners-up couldn’t find another opportunity as the Indian team was way too quick and competitive.

The game even witnessed pressure on the Indian side as the third goal was being attempted but eventually, Malaysia couldn’t score another one. This paved the way for India’s victory in the Asia Hockey Cup against Malaysia by 2-1.
