Quite a fortunate day for India , Indeed ! Post winning the toss and choosing to bat, India earned a power-packed 246-run victory over England, in Vizag to take lead in the five-match series. Mohammed Shami,R Ashwin, Jayant Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli were seen as key performers . England lost 5 wickets in the first session of the India vs England 2nd test series .
Ravi Ashwin and Jayant Yadav took three wickets each.R Ashwin picked the first wicket of the day on Monday. Jayant Yadav took the last wicket on James Anderson. Captain Virat Kohli said in a statement, ” Scoreboard pressure counts in Test cricket. It was tough in the second innings. Had to dig it out. The idea was to show intent and get as many runs as possible. I was striking the ball well. Biggest positive is the way the fast bowlers bowled. Jayant Yadav was brilliant with the bat, showed great character. It’s priceless these contributions.” He was also declared as the’ Man of the Match’ of ‘ind vs eng test series 2016’. A gorgeous trophy clubbed with a cheque of Rs. One lakh sponsored by Paytm was awarded to the jaunty captain.
Ashwin and Jadeja were left frustrated by the energy shown by Cook and Hameed. However, captain was pleased , categorically after Jadeja dismissed Cook on the final ball of the England’s innings .
