The Rohit Sharma-led Team India equalled the global record for most straight T20I victories after defeating Sri Lanka in the third and final T20I.

With this win over Sri Lanka, Team India has now won 12 straight T20Is, equaling Afghanistan’s record for most consecutive T20I wins by a Test-playing nation.

In the shortest edition of the game, India is currently ranked first.

India defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets in the third and final T20I match. Shreyas Iyer top-scored for the hosts with an undefeated 73* as the Men in Blue chased down the mark of 146 in 16.5 overs. While pursuing the disappointing target of 146, India was never in jeopardy.

Shreyas won the chase with a 73* off 45 balls, his third half-century in a row. The hosts were in complete control from the start, chasing down the mark with six wickets and 19 balls to spare.

In the previous 20 overs, Indian bowlers held Sri Lanka to a total of 146/5. Dasun Shanaka struck 74* for Sri Lanka, guiding the visitors to a decent total, while Dinesh Chandimal contributed 25.

Avesh Khan took two wickets, Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, and Ravi Bishnoi each took one.
