Changes to come in new passport
Talking about the already existing passport, there are Emigration Check Required (ECR) and old passport number with date and place of issue of that passport on the last page. So, after printing of this new passport, the passport holders will be divided into two categories. Those who have ECR status will get orange colour passport jacket while non-ECR status continue to get a blue passport.

The validity of the existing passports would continue to remain valid till the date of expiry printed in the passport booklet. So, he existing passport holders don’t need to be worried about the same.
