It is high time now that safety of women should be the paramount agenda for any government, be it State or Central. Mainly because of the earlier times when the way Indian females were brought up within an environment where being ABLA was the domination they had to pin onto themselves.  The males then automatically were backfired with protecting the females they thought are wholly dependent on them. It’s not that this is the only reason why women should be protected because in this current century the way womanhood is progressing, a day will come when men would need their protection. But until then, trying to make this nation a better and safer place to live in, especially for the females, women safety and protection is something what every person should strive to achieve as much as possible. After all who wouldn’t want a nation where woman can travel and walk around freely?

When we talk about the importance of women safety, CM Vasundhara Raje with her prime state Rajasthan, very well understands how integral this issue is for any government. There have been back to back trials and implementations to ensure that womanhood is in safe hands and both them and their rights are secure. Last week only the state government of Rajasthan with its Mahila Gaurav Express Programme has aligned itself within the Nirbhaya Scheme/Fund.

Under this recent trial to make sure women get a safe travel environment, Rajasthan under the guidance of CM Vasundhara Raje has started 20 new hi-fi buses as formally announced by the Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari, during an event at Delhi’s Bikaner House. This would just be the beginning as the Rajasthan government has planned to eventually bring over 2,300 more buses under the project’s domain.

As a responsible minister, Vasundhara Raje knows that to ensure safety of women after the unfortunate Nirbhaya incident, is it important to make it mandatory for public transport buses to install emergency panic buttons, CCTV cameras and GPS-enabled vehicle tracking devices and she is willing to not delay such an initiative any further.  The 20 new hi-tech buses for Rajasthan will help the state to be the first baton bearer in this race for women safety and also will set an example as the first state for doing so.

As far as the panic button is concerned this is how it will work: The panic button which will be connected to the government’s women’s helpline number, when pressed, will automatically send a signal to Depot Chief Manager’s phone at Jaipur’s Control room with the details of the vehicle and live video feed. It will also simultaneously alert the nearest police control room with all the specific details of buses’ whereabouts.

CM Vasundhara Raje, with all her feminine instincts has the most concerned inputs whenever the topic of women empowerment is raised. In fact, prioritizing acts towards women empowerment and up-liftment has made her win many awards and worldwide recognition. She was a proud recipient of  the ‘Women Together’ Award under the aegis of United Nations for encouraging khadi products and kota doria. Bhamashah Yojna and the Saksham- Art of Self Defence, are two best examples out of the many successful programs started with women benefit as the main aim. Both of them explicitly showcase how CM Raje stepped forward to make the women of her state independent and self sufficient.

Bhamashah Yojna which embarked in previous tenure by CM Raje, has taken onto a very well accomplished phase in the current term. Believing in the path of achieving community empowerment through women empowerment, Bhamashah Yojna has created vacancies for the women to be the head of the families. This way all the government benefits and monetary aids will be functionalized with the authority of the female head, giving her that self righteous dignity which she always longed for.

Not only these buses with panic buttons, but women safety through Saksham, the self defense program led by CM Raje has made enough space for the women of her sate to learn to fight for their own safety. The program deals with training lessons for girls from 6th to 12th std. with the art of self defence. Raje keeps stating that, “Women are the essence of Prosperity & Positive Change. When a Woman learns, her family learns and learning of the whole society follows.” Being a woman herself and aslo Rajasthan’s sole leader, she completely goes by the motto that self defence is the best defence.  With all her indignant efforts she has made Rajasthan one such state that is capable enough to lead the country with respect to girl empowerment and woman enhancement.

Being the 2nd most popular leader, Vasundhara Raje is one lady figure who has shed the gender dynamics way before after winning over the males competitors of hers. Similarly, she wants to make each women of her state to become the greatest defender of herself first and for the rest the government is trying its best.
