The Central Bureau of Investigation is about to file a chargesheet against Indrani Mukerjea – the major face widely known as culprit in the murder of her daughter Sheena Bora, who was tagged along by her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna.
In a recent court session in Mumbai, Indrani Mukerjea spelled out that she would like to divorce Peter Mukerjea, after she was charged for murder along with first husband Sanjeev Khanna.
Peter too has been charged today with the murder of her alleged-daughter, Sheena Bora.
The Mukerjea were married in 2002; it was the second marriage for both. In 2015, Indrani Mukerjea was arrested after a former driver of hers allegedly confessed that three years earlier, he had killed Sheena Bora. At the time, Indrani Mukerjea had told friends and family that Sheena, who she presented as her younger sister, had moved to the US to study and then work.
18 tapes furnished by Rahul Mukerjea to the CBI contained several conversations between Indrani, Peter and him.
Rahul later tweeted defying his father stating that all charges levelled on him should be dropped and not framed. “He clearly wasn’t involved,” Rahul had posted.
In 2014, Sheena Bora was picked up from Linking Road, Mumbai by Indrani Mukerjea for a dinner date that Rahul Mukerjea was aware of. This was a notable turn in story. From the time she was picked, Sheena Bora never returned.
Indrani Mukerjea said that because she is being framed, she would like a divorce. The judge caustically replied to her statement. The judge told her to follow that in a family court.
Peter Mukerjea has claimed that he had no role in the murder. He said that he was not aware that Sheena Bora was his wife’s daughter and not her sister.
Sheena and Mikhail Bora were born to Indrani Mukerjea and her supposed-first partner, Siddharth Das, in the late 80s. She abandoned him and moved to Kolkata and gradually to Mumbai, where she met Peter Mukerjea, the rich boss of Star India, one of India’s leading private TV networks.
Interestingly, Sheena and Mikhail were introduced as her younger siblings to the Star India head and his family. Such a mischievous move, really!
All three suspects were present in court today and have claimed innocence. Their trial begins on February 1.
