Forests are important part of our ecosystem. But, these forests are facing the repercussions of expanding urbanization and industrialization. Trees are cut on the account of making the world more developed. Well… the analysis of present scenario reveals that no natural habitats and greenery will remain. In fact, the whole ecosystem has been disturbed resulting in natural calamities. This is a serious concern which has to be resolved. To promote awareness and importance of forests, United Nations General Assembly declared 21 March as International Forests Day.

First time, it was declared in 2013. The theme for 2018 is Forests and Sustainable Cities. There are several campaign held by countries on this day. Efforts are made to organize local, national and international activities.
