It is a noble gesture which is recently portrayed by PM Modi for a woman. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, our PM Narendra Modi talked about a woman who inspired him. He shared on his Twitter account a resident of Kotabharri village in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh, Kunwar Bai and her efforts for Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
Who is Kunwar Bai?
This is 106-year old lady who sold goats for building toilet. She was passed away earlier this year. She was inspirational lady whom PM cannot forget. He sold her all the goats which were her only assets and get the toilet build. She worked hard to spread awareness about using toilets. Thanks to her efforts that the district of Dhamtari became the first to be declared open defecation free in 2016.

PM was highly inspired his noble gesture about the Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of Swachh Bharat. Further PM recalled the about the good memory of meeting her and sought her blessings during his one of the visits to Chhattisgarh. In his tweet, PM also asked people to write about such inspirational ladies.

8th March is International Women’s Day. This is a day that commemorates and celebrates the women. It was first observed on February 28, 1909 in New York. Later, it was suggested to celebrate March 8 as an “International Woman’s Day.”
