Irrfan Khan is noted one among the finest actors of Bollywood Industry. His roles in movies like Piku, Life of Pi, The Lunchbox, Talwar, Maqbool, Life in a Metro etc have not only proved his acting skills but have also fetched him many awards and titles. But Bollywood and controversies have their own special place in media.
Irrfan Khan on Monday night created history when before the popular TV journalist Arnab Goswami on his show on the India’s televised current-affairs shows he took on religious fundamentalists and self-appointed custodians and interpreters of the Holy Scriptures. He made a very simple point against the attackers on the famous talk show ‘Frankly Speaking’ that he does not require any mediator or any intermediary between him and the GOD to make a connection between the two. This obviously hurt the people who only do such things, the religious heads. They further said that Irrfan should not interfere in religious matters and should restrict himself from doing any such action.
Irrfan very clearly said that whatever he believes are his own thoughts. He has the freedom to feel whatever he wants to. He clearly stated that he does not need any support from any third party to uphold his believes. He also said, “my doubts and misgivings about the way the Holy Scriptures and religion are interpreted are my own.”
For his outspokenness, Irrfan has apparently been flooded with threats and intimidation. While he refused to comment any further on the matter, a colleague said, “This is not an attempt to be fashionably irreverent. His expression of doubts and misgivings come from a deep-rooted conviction that much of what is wrong in the world today, has to do with the wrong interpretation of religious books. He’s aware of the dangers that his frank speaks poses to him and his family. We are very proud of him.”
His recent movie Madari was released on July 22nd 2016 also featuring Jimmy Shergil. The release of Madari was also shifted to July 22 on which Irrfan said, “I am in agreement with the decision of the makers to change the release date of Madaari.”
We thank Irrfan Khan for finally speaking it. We need more people like him in the country who would believe and understand that GOD loves its people and we do not need anybody to tell us how to create strong relations with him. Just believe in him!!
