In a bid to promote night tourism in Jaipur, Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje held a meeting with JMC (Jaipur Municipal Corporation) officers. A determined Raje wanted to revamp the Parkota walls of the city. Beautiful pink Parkota walls of the city, embellished with white Mandana designs highlight the rich diversity of Rajasthani culture. To promote this beautiful art worldwide, CM Raje instructed the officers to illuminate these walls with colorful light. Lights and decorations will enhances its aesthetic appeal and attract more tourists to the old part of the city.

The CM instructed JMC officers to focus on the cleanliness and hygiene conditions of the surroundings. Attempts will be made to clean the bazaar. Additionally the authorities will keep stray animals at bay so that tourists can freely explore the city area on foot.

According to the numbers presented by the Rajasthan tourism department, the previous efforts of Raje government yielded positive outcomes in last two years. The new Rajasthan tourism ad and tourism anthem attracted 17% more tourists in the last two tourist seasons.

As a part of ‘Jaipur Night Tourism’ project, Rajasthan government will make efforts to illuminate ‘Chaura Rasta’ and ‘Hawa Mahal’ region before Diwali that is October 2017. In the second phase, the officers will focus on Tripolia market, Chhoti Chaupad, Johari Bazaar and other heritage areas. The government will wind up this project before 15th August, 2018.

Other than illuminating the city, the authorities will complete pending projects before June 2018, which include:

  • Construction of SIHM (State Institute of Hotel Management) at Sawai Madhopur, Jhalawar and Dholpur
  • Upgradation of Udaipur SIHM
  • Development of Food craft institute at Baran.

CM Raje, who’s a known patron of pilgrimage and heritage tourism, took this opportunity to monitor the restoration of:

  • Haathigaon
  • Sambhar Project (as a part of Swadesh Darshan Yojana)
  • Pushkar-Ajmer Project
  • Rajsamand’s Nathdwara Temple
  • Khatushyam ji Mandir in Krishna circuit
  • Jaipur’s Govind Devji, Charan Temple
  • Machkund (Dholpur), Beejak (Virat Nagar), Kama (Bharatpur)
  • Ambika Temple, Samod Balaji, Ghaat k balaji, Jain Nasiyan, Bandhe ke Balaji
  • Mehendipur Balaji (Dausa)
  • Salasar Balaji (Churu)
  • Bhrithari and Pandupol (Alwar)
  • Sanwaliya ji (Chittorgarh).

The government of Rajasthan is determined to cash in the tourism potential of Rajasthan.
