Jaipur Tinged In Tricolour This Diwali: Lighting Adds a Patriotic Touch to Pink City

In the Light of India’s Recent Surgical Strikes, Natives Unite Against ‘NaPak’ Thoughts…

This Diwali, Jaipur takes patriotism to a whole new level. Every year, the local trade associations, designers and artistes make elaborate preparations for Diwali. However, this year, judging by the mood of the nation with regards to surgical strikes on Pakistan, festive decorations highlight ‘Patriotism’ as the central theme.

Johari Bazaar, Chaura Rasta, Vaishali Nagar and MI Road are among those places where tricolour dominates the backdrop lighting. Market and trade associations have elaborate plans for the upcoming festival. They use this opportunity to thank Indian soldiers for their never-dying spirit. The bravery and dedication with which they serve our nation is truly commendable. This Diwali, the native are going to stand against anti-nation thoughts and terrorism this year.

Here’s what the public can see in Jaipur.

Banner, Flexes & Diyas in Johari Bazaar

General Secretary Brij Bihar Agarwal, Johari Bazaar Trade Association is excited for the upcoming festival,

I think this Diwali we should salute the bravery of our army men and para military forces responsible to let us celebrate Diwali peacefully. Thus, the people visiting these markets will see big posters of the commandos, armymen, paratroopers and others“, he says.

Johari Bazaar, one of the hottest attractions of the city is going to have huge posters, flexes and banners supporting para-commandos and paratroopers. They’ll be pasted alongside tricolour lighting on the market walls.

Decorators and artistes are burning ‘midnight oil’s to pay their tributes to martyrs of Pak attacks. These elaborate decorations will surely attract local shoppers that throng at the city walls to view festive lighting.

Posters of Army Men in Chaura Rasta

Traders have ordered huge custom-made posters of army men for their shops. Considering the patriotic fervour of natives post Uri attacks, these posters will depict our valiant commandos in action. Usually the designers put up mini replicas of international monuments every year. However, today this year, they’ll design something along the lines of Indian army, as informed by Prakash Agarwal, President of Chaura Rasta trade association.

People Shun Chinese Decorations at Vaishali Nagar and MI Road

Markets around Vaishali Nagar and MI Road are renowned for creative ideas, when it comes to embellishments. A few years down the lane, they had depicted the killing of international terrorist Osama Bin Laden through vivid posters and cut-outs. However, this time, they’ll have tri-colour fairy lights in shops and city walls. Local traders have decided to shun Chinese lighting and use ‘Swadeshi’ items in an attempt to show solidarity to Indian soldiers.

PM Modi recently launched #Sandesht2Soldier campaigns for the countrymen to send Diwali greetings and messages to armed forces securing the country borders. Seems like Jaipur has discovered a new way to send this message loud and clear.
