The third day of vibrant Rajasthan Diwas concluded with a spectacular fashion show put up by Bangladeshi fashion designer Bibi Russell and a ‘rockstar’ performance by Bollywood heartthrob Mohit Chauhan…
On third day of Rajasthan Diwas—an astonishing fest that celebrates the glorious history and colourful culture of the desert kingdom, the viewers were mesmerized with colourful performances put up by acclaimed artists of our country. The grand Albert Hall museum—the pride of pink city lit up with bright, colourful lights as the audience congregated outside the main hall on the streets to witness some live action. A grand stage was put up with the historic museum in backdrop, to stage various performances for the evening. The space ahead was occupied by an energized audience that were thrilled to see celebrities amidst them.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Rajmata Ashi Dorji Vagmo Wangchuk of Bhutan’s royal family. The guest of honour was accompanied by her family. CM Vasundhara Raje gave her company throughout the show.
The programme began with an outstanding performance in Rajasthan folk music delivered by Ustaad Chugge Khan and his band ‘Rajasthan Josh’. Chugge Khan is a talented Rajasthani artist who has won several laurels for Rajasthan.
It was followed by an ethnic fashion show presented by Bangaladeshi designer and former model BiBi Russell. Her designs were fresh and unique—masterpieces spun from the finest cotton yarns produced in Rajasthan’s Barmer district. The audience couldn’t help but drool at the magnificent display of soothing cotton dresses for men and women.
The main highlight of the evening was Bollywood singer Mohit Chauhan’s live concert. Chauhan charmed the audience with his soulful music. He sang some of his best songs including ‘Pee Loon’, ‘Tumse Hi’, ‘Ilahi’, ‘Matargashti’, ‘Naadan Parindey’ and the evergreen ‘Sadda Haq’. The audience went ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ at the artist’s performance.
