After Jio in 2016, it’s Jio 4G VoLTE phones which has taken the baton to disrupt the market in 2017.

2016 had become a year of transformations and major reformatory announcements starting from Rio, Jio, Brexit, US Elections to Demonetisation. Jio, specifically has been an ultimate savior for all Indians in the last year. Reliance has captured a major market in a very short span by offering free 4G tariffs and call rates until March 31st.

In 2017 too, the novice telecom giant, Reliance has steered an eye-popping transformation in the smartphone segment. The company seems to be geared to continue its disruptive trail by launching uber-affordble feature phones that, will do away with the need for smartphones.

Reliance Jio is all set to roll out 4G VoLTE-ready feature phones that would cost as little as Rs 999.

If this isn’t enough, the phone is also potent to access Jio’s high-speed 4G internet, the Jio digital store and play music.

Owing to it’s low price, the phone might lack advanced functions. Rumours are abuzz that the phone will have a selfie camera clubbed with a physical keyboard. It is said that the phone will be Android supported. The Jio VoLTE feature phones will reportedly have some essential apps like Jio Chat, Live TV and more.

A similar  phone in this category of smartphone is available anywhere between the range of Rs.1500 to Rs. 3000, therefore leaving no stone unturned at this juncture to capture the market.

The top master of Reliance Group, Mukesh Ambani is speculated to launch the 4G Jio Volte phone before March 31.

This move is nothing short of a mastermind move to disrupt the smart phone market. This is because over 65% of India’s 1 billion mobile phone devices market is still dominated with cheap, inexpensive feature phones. Hence, a solid reason to release the same at an even cheaper rate.

Like Jio has reigned the market, ever since it was announced, Jio Volte phones too will turn heads of all Indians, including masses and other smart phone production giants like Htc, Samsung, Sony, etc. Apple is likely to remain unaffected as it doesn’t cater to the supplies of cheap feature phones.
