Kahaani 2 Review: What’s Simmering Underneath it?

Vidya Balan (Durga) plays her game but Arjun Rampal (the Inspector) struggles with his role at first.

The first half of Kahaani 2 is quite promising. We get some glimpses of Durga’s fast moving life. The mystery of child abuse and lady’s bravado keeps you on the edge of your seats. The queer feeling of someone watching you dominates the plot. This is where Vidya Balan (Durga) plays her game. Arjun Rampal (Inspector) struggles with his role at first, but maintains the mystery. His search for truth will keep make you bite your nails. Nevertheless, the second half lets you down a bit. It’s not as powerful as earlier. Moreover, at some point of time, you realize that plot was simple and to-the-point, nothing new that you expected.

However, you’ll surely appreciate Sujoy’s direction, Tapan’s cinematography and Ritesh Shah, Suresh Nair and Ghosh’s story. They keep the riddles up for most part. All in all, what we realized was that had some mischief makers not released the movie online, the story would’ve earner more viewers at first.

Writers have put a lot of effort into the big plot twist. Though it disrupts the rhythm retained by the film, but we’re sure you’re going to like it. Manini Chadha and Jugal Hansraj have given dignified and fine performances.

This Kahaani 2 Review was just a sham to build up your interest. You must watch the movie to tap into Durga’s life.
